Description:
- Assist in the design of bridges and roads including structural and hydraulic analysis, estimate preparation, and specification writing
- Produce design plans using computer drafting software, primarily AutoCAD, work with MDOT, county road agencies, and municipalities to move projects through the design process from inception to bid
- Coordinate with project managers, utility owners, and environmental specialists
- Compose grant and funding applications for federal and state funding of road and bridge projects
- Perform field work, including site visits and assist with in-service bridge inspections

- Ensure compliance with plans and MDOT specifications
- Efficiently perform material testing and report testing results
- Communicate effectively with SCECO staff, MDOT or Local Agency staff, and contractor
- Accurately measure, calculate, and deliver pay quantities
- Flexibly assist from job-to-job
